president last september. it was a restriction on which people from which countries can get visas to come to the u.s. what the supreme court did today is struck down a lower court order that was imposed to block enforcement of the travel ban. that court order was actually lifted in december. the administration has been enforcing this law ever since. and today the supreme court said when this case goes back to hawaii for a trial on the merits, it s going to be very hard for the challengers to win, because the supreme court bats back the arguments they ve made on two grounds. first, the majority says the president had the legal authority to do this under the law. that was a question. the challenger said under immigration law, a president can t ban people from an entire country. there has to be some justification. the only thing these people had in common was the fact they were muslims and from these five countries.
