Mercer County, local officials come together to discuss use of American Rescue Plan federal funds
State legislators, Mercer County commissioners, Mercer County mayors and administrators gathered virtually to discuss their aspirations for federal funds from the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act.
Organized by the Capital City Area Black Caucus, the discussion on April 24 centered on how Mercer County government and municipal officials would hope and plan to utilize the federal funds. As of April 27, the U.S. Department of the Treasury has not provided specific guidance yet on how the federal funds can be used by the county and local municipalities.

Taunton is a hotbed of reported supernatural activity, from unexplainable sensations to terrifying sightings.
On Feb. 12, 10 Paris High School choir students traveled to Mount Pleasant to compete in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest, with six students advancing to the state competition. âThis was their first competition for this year,â Choir Director Grace Tucker said. âI am very proud of the hard work that each one of my students has put in, they gave it their all.â The following students qualified to compete in the virtual State level Solo and Ensemble competition in late May: Tahirah Howard, Abagail Lawson, Chyna Lee, Abigail Long, Brenna Mills and Johnathan Young.
