The board voted 3-2 Wednesday to increase CPS’ obligation to the underfunded pensions to more than triple what it paid in 2020. Before that, the city covered the full cost.
"I do predict there’ll be a day we can go mask optional," CPS CEO Pedro Martinez told the Board of Education at its meeting Wednesday. "And I would love that to happen before the end of the school year."
