Leslie Edwin (Les) Price

Leslie Edwin (Les) Price, 92, of West Grove, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, in Jennersville Hospital due to complications from COVID pneumonia. Born in Eagle River, Wis., on May 25, 1928, he was the youngest child of Henry William Price and Elizabeth (Williams) Price. His parents ran a tourist camp on the Wisconsin River and Les gained his lifelong love of fishing, hunting and the outdoors from growing up there. He graduated from Eagle River High School, then enlisted in the Army in 1946-1948, serving in the 88th Infantry Division, the “Blue Devils,” 350th Infantry Regiment, F Company, and participated in the Italian Occupation. He used the GI bill to attend Michigan Technological University, graduating in 1952 with dual degrees in Mining Engineering and Geological Engineering, the first in his family to graduate from college. He accepted a position with the Pickands Mather Company as a mining engineer and worked for them until his retirement in

Trinity Lutheran Church hosting free movie, pancake feed

Trinity Lutheran Church hosting free movie, pancake feed The Salina Journal Free movie showing The Trinity Lutheran Church located at the corner of Ninth and Crawford streets in Salina will be showing a free movie, Champion, at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19. Refreshments will be served, and limited seating is available due to COVID-19. To RSVP, call 785-823-7151 by noon March 19.  Ground Hog Feed The Lutheran Laymen s League (LLL) will serve the 69th Annual Ground Hog Feed from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Tickets are $5, which includes sausage, all-you-can-eat pancakes and a drink. Tickets are available from the church office or from any LLL member. Dine-in or carry-out service will be available.
