Houma man arrested in connection with Napoleonville drive-by shooting investigation

A Houma man was arrested in connection with a November drive-by shooting in Napoleonville, authorities said.
Shamod Tavion Willams, 19, of Belmere Luxury Court, is charged with assault by drive-by shooting, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
The shooting occurred Nov. 8 just south of Napoleonville, authorities said. Deputies were called out to a park in the Back Marais area to investigate shots fired. Deputies saw a large gathering of people and learned that shots had been fired from the roadway. No injuries were reported.
A description of the suspect vehicle was provided to police but couldn’t be found, the Sheriff’s Office said. Several large-caliber casings were collected in the roadway.
