A TEAM of local runners are going the extra mile to ensure they can still hold their big new year event in aid of Ardgowan Hospice. Greenock Glenpark Harriers, who are celebrating their 125th anniversary, are holding their annual Lyle Mile challenge to kick off 2021 - with a few changes to make the event safe and complaint with social distancing measures. Instead of meeting on New Year s Day, entrants can run their mile anytime they like from Friday to Sunday. Looking forward to the proceedings is Harrier of 10 years, Lorna Coyle, who said: The Lyle Mile has turned into a bit of a tradition for us.
