COLUMBIA BASIN – More than 200 local athletes earned all-league honors during the fall sports season, ranging from honorable mentions to players of the year. Read along to see what awards athletes from all 12 local schools earned this fall sports season.
EPHRATA – The Tigers will bring a wealth of different experience levels to cross country courses on both the boys and girls teams this season, with the boys returning five runners from last year’s state championships and the girls team aiming for a state return.
MOSES LAKE – In this month's segment with Grant County Sheriff Joe Kriete, Managing Editor R. Hans "Rob" Miller discusses National Night Out, fighting cancer, domestic violence and an update on the new Grant County Jail facility with the sheriff. Kriete also shares that his daughter, a long-time standout in the local softball arena, will be leaving for college soon to play at the college level.
EPHRATA – Lyndsy Roberts ran both cross country and track for the Ephrata Tigers when he was in high school, and now the 1998 Ephrata graduate is taking over as head coach of the Tiger cross country program.
“I think there’s a lot of great programs around this area, but there’s something special for me about the Ephrata School District and this cross country running program,” Roberts said. “It helped shape me when I was in high school, and now that I’m able to be a part of the other side, I’m hopeful to do a lot of the same.” .
EPHRATA – The Ephrata School District announced that Lyndsy Roberts has been hired as the new head coach of the Ephrata cross country program on Monday.
Roberts has been an assistant coach with the team for the previous three years and is the head coach of the Ephrata Middle School track and field team.
