Re: “Update: Texan for Air Force post,” Wednesday news story.
Thatâs how many it takes to power a Backcountry Access beacon training park.
Lynne Wolfe is keenly familiar with that number. On Jan. 16 the Yostmark Backcountry Tours ski guide grabbed anyone within armâs reach to help her stuff the bevy of batteries into eight transceivers for a new beacon search training park at the Coal Creek trailhead, the second to be installed in the Teton region this winter.
The park consists of a control panel and eight transceivers that are buried in the snow. The control box contains switches that turn the transceivers on and off, allowing people to create dozens of training scenarios.
Bertrand Might: Life, legacy & next steps
December 9th 2007 - October 23rd 2020
Established initially as a memorial after Bertrand “Buddy” Might’s sudden
passing on October 23rd 2020 at the age of 12, this page now
serves to remember him as a person and also to coordinate and catalyze
activities that honor his legacy, such as the newly formed Bertrand Might
Endowment for Hope.
As a step toward building his active legacy, as his father and in the spirit of
the mission he gave me in life, I’ve begun publishing articles on this site
related to precision medicine.

After three years of leading Mountain Bike the Tetons, executive director Tony Ferlisi is leaving his position to join the nonprofit consulting firm LegacyWorks.
Ferlisi had worked in the Teton region before, as a ranger in the Gros Ventre Wilderness of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, but the position at MBT was what brought him to Teton Valley in January of 2018.
âI came here for the job and because I love riding bikes here,â Ferlisi said. âItâs been really fun to be a part of the mountain bike community here in an official role.â
His responsibilities as the executive director of the nonprofit included writing grants for new projects, overseeing trail coordinator Chris Brule and his crew, and fundraising. He also directed a race series, helped found a new youth mountain bike program, and acted as a representative during policy and forest planning discussions with public agencies.
