WBGZ Radio 5/5/2021 | By Doug Jenkins - WBGZ Radio   Vaccines for COVID-19 are still being offered for free in Madison County, and a spokesperson with the Health Department says they remain busy. Appointments are preferred to help with planning, but walk-ins are welcome at the mass vaccination site in Collinsville, and you don’t have to work or live in Madison County to get a shot there.  Madison County Health Department Spokesperson Amy Yeager tells the Big Z while some sites in other counties have seen a slowing of those wanting the vaccine, she does not believe they have plateaued in Collinsville.

Walk-ins Welcome at COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic

Appointments are preferred to help with planning, but walk-ins are now welcome.  Officials say  added the option since some people need the flexibility.  This week the mass vaccination site is at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville through Thursday. County Opens More COVID Appointments | Alton Daily News

WBGZ Radio 4/12/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio The Madison County Health Department has opened more appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine.  Clinics are being held by appointment only at locations around Madison County including Godfrey, Granite City and Collinsville.  The vaccine is available to anyone age 16 and older, and those ages 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent. Madison County Health Department Spokesperson Amy Yeager tells the Big Z while other counties and states might offer walk up clinics, they’ll keep using the appointment system for now: Click for comment COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be offered today, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Collinsville, Tuesday in Godfrey, and Saturday in Granite City.   These are for Illinois residents or those that work in Illinois and you will need to show an ID.  

Vaccination Clinics Expand As COVID Cases Go Up

Madison County has seen an increase in the 7-day rolling positivity rate over the last two weeks as it expands the availability of the vaccine for teens and adults.
