For decades, theories continued to swirl about Ware’s life and what led to her grisly end. Meanwhile, her skull and jawbone and odds and ends recovered at the time of her death remained in the courthouse’s evidence vault.
Nearly 500 feet high, the little-known mountain will be protected in perpetuity thanks to a collaborative effort between The Conservation Fund, Blue Hill Heritage Trust (BHHT) and Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT).
