Man who allegedly assaulted brother has matters transferred

Premium Content Subscriber only A Caboolture South man, who allegedly assaulted his brother in March causing his death, has had his court matters transferred from Rockhampton to Maroochydore. Christopher John Adcock, 38 had his matters mentioned in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was represented by lawyer Nick Crawford. Mr Adcock was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and wilful damage. Mr Crawford sought to have Mr Adcock s matters transferred to Maroochydore Magistrates Court as the alleged incident occurred in Landsborough. The court heard Mr Adcock s matters were being mentioned in Rockhampton as that is where he was arrested on March 12.

Farnborough driver cops two-year ban

Ivan Mark Davenport knew that, but he thought he had no other option. He got caught and it cost him a two-year licence disqualification and a $750 fine. The 29-year-old was at Stony Creek, Byfield, on January 10 with his partner and his three-year-old son when he said she nearly had an accident while driving and suffered a panic attack. Davenport said it was getting late in the day, his partner couldn’t continue driving, and he believed there were no other options but for him to drive them home. At 5.50pm, police intercepted the vehicle on Farnborough Rd and checks revealed Davenport was disqualified from driving by a court order.

World War II ornaments land Yeppoon man in court

Premium Content A Yeppoon man charged after police found bullets in his bedroom has escaped punishment. David Anthony Froschauer, 36, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court last Thursday to possessing explosives (ammunition). The court heard that Froschauer was charged after police found 11 bullets in a small brown pouch while executing a search warrant at his Whitman St residence on December 13. The prosecution told Magistrate Jason Schubert that Froschauer had never held a weapon’s licence. Froschauer, who had no criminal history, said the bullets were ornaments from World War II and had belonged to his father and prior to that his grandfather.

Zilzie mum caught with knuckle dusters, drugs

Premium Content Subscriber only Police found drugs and knuckle dusters during a search of a Zilzie mum’s residence in December. Rebekah Elizabeth Rodgers, 36, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrate’s Court last Thursday to possessing cannabis, drug utensils and a weapon. The court heard that police attended Rodgers’ Falcon Crescent residence at 11.07am on December 27 last year. In a bedroom, officers found 8.6g of cannabis and drug utensils. They also found a knuckle duster weapon which was seized. Rodgers told Magistrate Jason Schubert she had no excuses for her offending. Mr Schubert fined Rodgers $850 and did not record a conviction.
