An advocate has approached the Bombay High court seeking CBI investigation into the deaths of 14 people allegedly due to heatstroke and stampede during the Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony held at.
Panvel Tehsildar Vijay Talekar informed that Rs. 5 lakh rupees each have been deposited in the accounts of the heirs of the 14 people who died of heatstroke during the Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony at Kharghar.
At least 14 people died after suffering from sunstroke during the Maharashtra Bhushan award ceremony held in Kharghar area of Raigad district neighbouring Mumbai on April 17.
Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony: A total of ₹13.63 crore on advertising the event on billboards while at least six other agencies spent over ₹12 crore on roads, water supply, logistics, and health services.
