Saturday marked the last day of in-person early voting in Virginia before Election Day on Tuesday and many voters across the Commonwealth showed up to cast their ballot.
Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin were making last-minute pushes Sunday to energize voters across Virginia in the final days of the competitive and closely watched governor’s race.
A few highly competitive races in Virginia suburbs, like around Richmond, will likely determine who controls the chamber and passes their priorities. The Democrats currently hold a 55-45 edge.
More than 788,000 Virginians so far this election have either cast their vote early in-person or by mail, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
