Firefighters tackle heath fire on Turbary Common

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire on Turbary Common last night. The fire service was alerted to the fire at 7.04pm and a pump from Redhill Park along with a pump, L4T (Light 4x4 Tender vehicle) and water carrier from Poole were mobilised to the scene. A futher four pumps were later requested, taking the total number to six, along with five L4Ts, which were mobilised from Ferndown, Wimborne, Christchurch, Hamworthy and Ringwood.
