A Republican lawmaker in Maine was censured after implying that the deadliest mass shooting in the state's history was punishment from God for a recent abortion law.
"Keep in mind, the law came into effect on October 25. God heard you. And the horrible events on October 25 happened," said Lemelin, a Republican from Chelsea.

Last summer, Maine was abuzz with talk of a neo-Nazi training ground being formed by white supremacist Christopher Pohlhaus in Springfield.
I think Pohlhaus is a sad, pathetic, hateful character — as tends to be the case for all white nationalists like him — who founded the organization Bluttstamm (Blood Tribe).
Referring to a Maine Neo-Nazi group, Rep Laurel Libby asked: 'I would like to know what they did that was illegal?' A clip of her speech sparked outrage online, accusing her of defending the Holocaust.
