Sheriff is Investigating Several Winter Traffic Accidents The Fayette County Sheriff notes that they responded to several accidents involving vehicles that slid into ditches in rural parts of the county. Oelwein Driver Leads Officers on a Chase An Oelwein man faces a long list of charges for leading authorities on a high speed chase, before crashing his vehicle into a ditch. The incident happened at about 2am Sunday, January 17th in Buchanan County. A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. Fayette Sheriff Reports Recent Accidents and Arrests The Fayette County Sheriffs Office has released information on recent traffic accidents and arrests. On Thursday, Jan. 21, officers arrested 33 year old Michael Walters of Monona for a Probation Violation. Walters was taken to the Fayette County jail where he was held without bond.
