(CNN) — Early voting is set to start Friday in Virginia, where every seat in the state legislature is on the ballot in a high-stakes election with major implications for 2024.

Friday marks the beginning of a 45-day window for in-person early voting at your local registrars office. Registrars are issuing absentee ballots to Virginians who have applied to vote by mail.
