While retaining the steel beams, timber flooring, exposed brickwork and original hoists, Make deliberately selected new contrasting materials such as copper, concrete and terrazzo to distinguish between new and old. That would be a great gateway but I can’t see that greenery getting past the wretched value engineers. New bailey is really coming through, it’s getting a real sense of place now in what used to be a horrid area. Am I right in thinking this is the last plot? Once this, those under construction, Middlewood docks and the factory are all complete it’s going to be fantastic; a full and complete new area. Well done Salford.
