Eastern Alamance was able to bounce back from its first loss in 2021 and the victory was highlighted by a 14-strikeout game by junior pitcher Kenna Raye Dark. The Eagles blanked rival Western Alamance, 5-0, on Tuesday night at Western Alamance Middle School. Eastern Alamance was No. 1 in the midseason HighSchoolOT Top 25 East softball poll, while Western Alamance was a couple spots behind at No. 5. Eastern Alamance would ultimately plate two runs on a single into right field by nine-hole hitter Reagan Hartley (senior). There were some mishaps made in the field by Western Alamance that put the Eagles ahead 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning, and gave Hartley the chance to advance to second base.

Western came into the week ranked No. 5 in the midseason HighSchoolOT Top 25 East softball poll, while Rockingham County cracked the West list at No. 21.
