With real estate developers and architects witnessing an uptick in enquiries and bookings about green homes post Covid-19, India may finally see the masses embracing the concept of sustainable buildings.

“We have been getting several enquiries from people who either want to buy a green house or are converting their existing ones into an eco-friendly home,” says Manit Rastogi, Co-Founding Partner of Morphogenesis, a sustainable architecture firm. Mahindra Lifespaces’ Managing Director & Chief Executive Arvind Subramanian adds: “Enquiries and bookings in our projects have witnessed an uptick since last July, when ‘unlocking’ began in earnest.” His company makes buildings that are certified green either by GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) or by IGBC (India Green Building Council).
