Wolf H Prescribed burning is set to begin on approximately 712 acres on the Emigrant Creek Ranger District. This unit is in the Wolf Creek area, approximately 15 miles southeast of Seneca along Forest Service Roads 17 and 15. Ignitions are planned to begin Friday, Sept. 22, weather conditions permitting. This prescribed burn will continue throughout the weekend into next week. Firefighters will continue to monitor the area for several days after completion.

Fire crews have been actively suppressing multiple new wildfires on the Malheur National Forest in the past 24 hours. Fire crews are fighting the 20 acre Lost Spring fire that was first reported at 3:28 pm on Friday, June 23. The fire is located off the 16 road on the Prairie City Ranger District near Crane Prairie Guard Station.
