NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The fourth-ranked Florida State softball team (42-8, 18-2) scored six runs in the top of the first and never looked back in an 11-2 win in five innings over Notre Dame (29-15-1, 11-11-1) to secure their seventh ACC series win of the season. The win marked Head Coach Lonni Alameda's 700th win as FSU's head coach. Alameda holds a 700-195-1 record for a ,781 winning percentage.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 4 Florida State softball team (40-8) picked up another win with a 5-3 victory over the No. 15 Florida Gators in front of a crowd of 1,836, the third largest crowd in school history, at JoAnne Graf Field on Wednesday evening. The Seminoles have now won four-straight games against Florida which ties the Seminoles longest win streak in the series. . The Gators capitalized on a leadoff walk to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Noles were able to match them with a shot into right field from Mack Leonard, scoring Kaley Mudge. Starter Makenna Reid settled in in the second inning and recorded two strikeouts and a groundout to retire the Gators in order. Michaela Edenfield walked, and Hallie Wacaser reached on an error to put two runners in scoring position for Katie Dack.
