KOTA KINABALU: A man escaped the death sentence but was sentenced to spend 35 years behind bars for the murder of his wife some four years ago by the High Court here on Wednesday (Sept 27).
For many death penalty supporters, it should be applied to the most heinous crimes such as murder, robbery with violence, treason, terrorism, defilement, and others.
PUTRAJAYA: Mandatory death and whipping sentences could become a thing of the past by early next year with amendments to the laws to be tabled in Parliament next month.
