A Cambridge man released from prison on parole less than four months ago is facing potential new felony drug charges following a traffic stop by Guernsey County sheriff s deputies Monday evening.
Justin M. Carnes, 31, was being held Tuesday in the Guernsey County Jail on a felony investigation hold issued by deputies following his arrest on Manila Road in Cambridge.
Deputies reportedly seized two containers with a crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, suspected marijuana and marijuana wax from a vehicle driven by Carnes.
Investigators said Carnes told them he was paid $200 by a male acquaintance to drive the vehicle from Muskingum County to Cambridge.

Two homes are facing fire damages after emergencies Sunday night.
Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services (WFPS) responded to two fires on Easter, including one caused by a cooking fire.
The first fire, reported around 8 p.m., was in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue at a multi-family residence. When WFPS arrived, they saw the home leaking heavy smoke and flames.
All of the home s occupants self-evacuated. One person was assessed by on-scene paramedics and was determined to need hospital care, They remain in unstable condition.
Launching an offensive attack, the fire was under control 23 minutes later.
The WFPS says unattended cooking was the cause of an accidental fire in the first 100 block of Manila Road at 8:09 p.m. Sunday. They say when they arrived, the single-family bungalow had heavy smoke pouring out of it, leading them to launch an offensive attack.
