Manipur has re-imposed a ban on mobile devices accessing the internet amid violent protests over the brutal murder of two minors, news of which broke after photographs of the bodies went viral on social media.
Internet services in Manipur were snapped on May 3 after violence engulfed the state. Broadband services had been conditionally restored following a government order on July 25.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that mobile internet services, which were suspended after ethnic violence erupted in the northeastern state on May 3, will be restored from Saturday.
