On my first day ever at Cornell, my family and I got a bit lost. It was the day before move-in, and we were exploring campus for ourselves, far off the beaten path toward the easternmost part of campus where the teaching barns are. A Minnesotan family of animal lovers, we had seen farms on the campus map and were determined to investigate them ourselves. Finally, after a long walk in the rain, we stumbled upon a collection of several different barns, sheds and greenhouses. 

On Saturday, Feb. 11, Cornell students rallied in Washington, D.C. with politicians, community leaders and students from other universities to reiterate the demands of the Uyghur Policy Act and Uyghur Human Rights Protection Act in response to the genocide in China.  Their stand reflects an important statement of solidarity amongst those who value human rights. Cornell Votes announced its new voter ambassador program recently to increase voter turnout for future elections.

Cornell Basic Needs Coalition, Cornell Progressives and the Office of the Student Advocate held their first pop-up to provide students with basic needs.

Cornell Votes, a nonpartisan campus organization, hosted its second-annual Civic Celebration to celebrate this year’s historic on-campus voter turnout and Cornell and Ithaca community members’ contributions to democratic participation.

Ithaca has long been known for its beauty, but for artist Jenifer Wightman grad, that beauty is more than meets the eye. Her most recent exhibit, unveiled this past week at Mann Library, uses microbes to facilitate her creative vision.
