Bodies of two Maoist cadres were recovered by the elite anti-Naxal force special operations group after an exchange of fire with a group of Maoists in Parhel.
The last rites of a CRPF jawan from Chirang district, Assam, who was killed in a Maoist encounter in Chhattisgarh, were performed in his native village. The jawan was given a state funeral and his mortal remains were brought to the airport before being taken to his village. The CRPF, CISF, and Assam Police officers paid tribute to the jawan. The IG CRPF praised the bravery of the jawan and promised support to his family. BTR chief and Bodoland Territorial Council executive member condemned the incident and called for strong action against the Maoists.
