Maple Leaf Mel was drawing away from the field when she injured her right front leg and stumbled just before the finish line in Saturday's Test at Saratoga. She was later euthanized.

Jockey Joel Rosario was unseated and went to a hospital in Albany for further evaluation and to have stitches for facial abrasions.

It's one of the most highly anticipated days on the Saratoga Race Course calendar: Whitney Day.
