The Sheyenne River is expected to crest in that area in the next 48 to 72 hours

Rising water is prompting more road and park closures along Minnesota rivers. The St. Croix River was poised to reach major flood stage Wednesday in Stillwater, Minn. The Mississippi River is forecast to reach major flood stage in the coming days at St. Paul, Red Wing and Winona, Minn.

The Sheyenne River is expected to crest in that area in the next 48 to 72 hours at 91.5 feet.

Just north of Tower City, a typical hot spot for flood season in rural Cass County, the Maple River has turned into quite an impressive lake as the snow melted over the weekend.

After two shots of moisture expected this week, forecasters predict drier weather next week as rivers continue to rise from the spring snowmelt.

River gauge graphs show levels and crest predictions for the Red River and tributaries for the basin in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota.
