MAPLETON — One person is in serious condition following a crash between a semitruck and car in Mapleton on Friday, according to the Mapleton Fire Department. In a Facebook post, fire officials said at 12:15 p.m. crews responded to a crash between a semitruck and a car on U.S. Highway 89 and 1600 South. Mapleton American Legion Post Fire 1:53 am An early morning fire has destroyed the American Legion Post in Mapleton, according to the Mapleton Fire Department. The Mapleton Fire Department and Huntingdon 911 say they responded to the flames at the Railroad Street building, around 4am Sunday morning. No injuries were reported, but the building is a total loss. No word on what caused the blaze.
