Isolated area up here in the mountains above san mateo and woodside. Listen to this number, though, kristen, 1,000 lightning strikes yesterday in san mateo and santa cruz counties. Seven fires were started by those lightning strikes. Three of those fires are still burning. The biggest one is here above woodside. The smoke can be seen from miles and miles around. The good news, its been dissipating over the past hour or so, as theyve dropped a lot of water on this fire. Take a look at this video from sky 7. Smoke and flames coming off the mountains above woodside. Only 10 acres right now. Cal fire says 100 firefighters from local agencies are battling the flames, water drops being done by helicopters and air tankers. More could be on the way if needed. Its really remote.
