A report issued by North Idaho College attorney Art Macomber recommended that trustees nullify President Nick Swayne’s employment contract due to an open meeting law violation that allegedly occurred the day Swayne was hired.

The events about to transpire at Monday’s meeting of the North Idaho College Board of Trustees could be a death knell for the college’s accreditation and possibly the college itself.

A judge declined to hear an attorney's motion to request to withdraw from representing North Idaho College in a lawsuit filed against the college.

In an eighteen-page response to a civil lawsuit filed by Coeur d’Alene attorney Michael Gridley, Art Macomber denies many of the allegations made against him, and offers a variety of reasons Gridley’s lawsuit should be dismissed with prejudice.

In a hearing scheduled for February 15, attorneys will present to Judge Cynthia Meyer their contention that the subpoenas fall outside the scope of NIC President Nick Swayne’s civil suit against the college, and seem to be aimed more at causing trouble than finding answers.
