A police detective asked to investigate what happened at a Longueuil long-term care centre, where dozens of residents died during the pandemic’s first wave, says there were several missteps that led to the virus spreading among residents.
But Longueuil police Det.-Sgt. Richard Parenteau doesn’t believe those responsible for the centre are to blame for what went wrong, recalling the confusion that reigned during the early stages of the pandemic.
