TACLOBAN CITY – San Pablo Island in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte has recently reopened to tourists from Eastern Visayas after almost a year due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Tagged as Southern Leyte’s Maldives, the island also known as Pong Gamay boasts of its captivating white sand beach, scenic sights, and unspoiled waters.
The island, which is only about a 3-hour drive from Tacloban City, is comparable to the famous Dead Sea, the landlocked salt lake between Israel and Jordan since its high salinity makes one float for a while.
