Rédoine Faïd was sentenced on Thursday to 14 years in prison for his spectacular escape by helicopter from Réau prison in July 2018. The sentences handed down are much lower than those requested by the prosecution, which had requested 22 years. Three of the robber's nephews, who were tried for helping their uncle during the three-month escape or escape, were sentenced to two, six and eight years. The only point of agreement between the prosecution and the court was the case of Alima A., the "landlady" and friend of one of the nephews. She was acquitted.
