North Wall Path Works: Ballina Shire

Date Time North Wall Path Works: Ballina Shire The North Wall shared path from Shaws Bay to the Ballina Marine Rescue Tower will be closed from Monday 3 May to Friday 7 May for pathway maintenance. Access to the Shaws Bay carpark alongside the Shaws Bay Holiday Park and Gawandii Beach will not be affected. Access will not be affected to the eastern section of the North Wall from the Marine Rescue Tower to the Richmond River entrance. The public are encouraged to use the pathway along Compton and Fenwick Drives and Pop Denison Park as an alternate route to access the eastern section of North Wall, starting from the Marine RescueTower.

Ballina's model raft seeks new home – Echonetdaily

A detailed scale model of a raft built to commemorate the historic Las Balsas expedition is looking for a new place to unfurl its sail. Formerly on display at the Ballina Airport, the raft model is currently in storage and out of the public eye. Col Lee from the Rotary Club of Ballina on Richmond is one of the people who would like to change that. The model was made for Rotary by Brian Walsh from Alstonville, a former boat-builder, to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of the Las Balsas expedition arriving in Ballina after an epic trans-Pacific voyage.
