New Nordic-inspired restaurant opens in Cape Town's Kloof Street

New Nordic-inspired restaurant opens in Cape Town’s Kloof Street Tessa Purdon Kloof Street is always a vibrant and often busy street in summer and even with the second wave of COVID-19 that has taken hold, you’ll still notice some semblance of activity. A new restaurant called Ëlgr has recently opened in the space that previously housed Janse & Co. Ëlgr is headed up by Swedish-born chef Jesper Nillson. Ëlgr means “moose” in Norse and is an iconic animal and symbol in Swedish culture. Guests can expect a modern, casual and multi-cultural dining experience with a menu that draws inspiration from Jesper’s Nordic roots.
