A planned veterans-preference, workforce housing and multi-family development slated to be built in Carson City got a $39.4 million financial boost Monday as part of the Home Means Nevada affordable housing initiative. Statewide, $500 million was awarded for various developments.

Today’s awards total $155.7 million in funding, representing about one-third of the initiative.
