The American Botanical Council is celebrating the 40th year of publication of its magazine HerbalGram by inaugurating a year-long public engagement project.

In recognition of the 40th anniversary of HerbalGram, the American Botanical Council (ABC) is instituting a year-long project to enhance the organization’s unique, international, nonprofit research and educational mission, publications, and programs.

The ABC-AHP-NCNPR Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP) is having a real-world impact on the quality of consumer products in the marketplace, and NutraIngredients-USA was delighted to recognize its Best Practices SOP for the Disposal / Destruction of Irreparably Defective Articles (IDAs) during the recent NutraIngredients-USA Awards.

Supplement ingredients derived from plants are surging with consumers because of their natural origins and increasing clinically proven profile.

The Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP) Best Practices Standardized Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Disposal / Destruction of Irreparably Defective Articles (IDAs) is a voluntary standard to remove “irreparably defective” substances that cannot be reconditioned or remediated for lawful use from the global supply chain. We caught up with BAPP consortium member David Trosin to get an update on the program that was formally introduced in November 2022.
