IT is now inevitable Colchester will enter a higher Tier of coronavirus restrictions due to the borough’s rising infection rate, the leader of Colchester Council has said. The coronavirus infection rate in Colchester has risen further, with more than 550 cases confirmed in the latest seven day period. The number of cases across Colchester and Tendring districts has doubled in the past week. Part of the issue has been laid at the feet of Tier 4 residents visiting the town to escape the rules of their own areas.
