RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph Township Mayor and Council held a Regular Meeting on May 6 during which the importance of gun violence awareness was addressed, announcements about the township’s Fourth of July Freedom Festival were made and plans and funds for various town wide projects were delineated.
Mayor Mark Forstenhausler commenced the meeting by honoring May 6th as National Nurses Day and sharing a message of gratitude for all Randolph nurses.
The meeting then proceeded into a Public Comments session. The first member of the public to address the council was Leslie Moran who thanked Mayor Forstenhausler for responding to her communications about a Gun Violence Awareness Day Proclamation. Moran emphasized the nonpartisan nature of the proclamation and attributed its inspiration to a number of recent gun violence–related deaths.
