First Merchants Bank, the successor to Citizens Financial Bank in Munster with more than 18 locations in Northwest Indiana and greater Chicagoland, named a new Chief Investment Officer.

First Merchants, which has 18 branches in Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicago area, is acquiring Level One Bancorp in suburban Detroit for $323.5 million.
