From college football legends to everyday fans, Mississippi States memorial service for Mike Leach provided a glimpse into his lasting legacy.

Elder Matthew S. Holland, a General Authority Seventy, was one of 12 speakers at a memorial service honoring the late Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach. He called Leach, a Latter-day Saint, a “man of faith.”

Mississippi State has a very busy stretch ahead that begins with the Leach memorial on Tuesday.

College football turns its attention toward Starkville on Tuesday as Mississippi State honors former coach Mike Leach at Humphrey Coliseum.

Former Mississippi State coach Mike Leach, who died on Dec. 12 at age 61, was honored Tuesday afternoon by friends, coaches and players who shared personal stories of his humanity, sense of humor and deep curiosity.

The coach was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center on Sunday after suffering "a personal health issue" at home, the school said.

MSU said Sunday that Mike Leach suffered a medical incident at his home and was taken to a hospital. As of Monday, he remained in critical condition.
