These downtown Springfield streets may become two-way by next year

Two one-way streets running through the heart of downtown Springfield are set to be converted to two-way streets in a years time. The city is seeking approval from the Illinois Department of Transportation to open Adams Street between Sixth and Ninth streets and a majority of Fourth Street in the downtown area to multi-directional traffic patterns.
