The family of William Yurek, who died in his home in Seattle in November, filed a $10 million wrongful death claim against the city this week.

A family has filed a claim against the Kent School District over a sexual assault case involving a substitute teacher and a fourth-grader. 

For U.S. Air Force veteran Mark Lindquist, it's a new beginning: a journey to war-torn Ukraine. The Moorhead resident recently put a halt to a potential political career, dropping out of the 7th District congressional race to either fight alongside Ukrainians or help with the humanitarian effort.

For the past eight months, U.S. Air Force veteran Mark Lindquist has been focused on his campaign for Congress in Minnesota’s largest district. But in recent days, the Democrat has been captivated by another potential calling: “Am I willing to die for Ukraine’s freedom?”

The only Democrat running for Congress in Minnesotas Seventh District is putting his political aspirations on hold in an attempt to join the foreign legion fighting Russian forces in Ukraine.

At one point, the DFL party had announced candidates for the 7th District seat, but those individuals are no longer eligible to run in the district after the redrawing of Congressional districts in Minnesota.
