Council members agreed the only way the swimming pool at Aumiller Park can be funded in 2023 is if someone donates $85,000 to the city.

The meeting was called by finance committee members, according to a city news release sent to local media shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.

The total retroactive payment is $327,855, while the additional cost for 2023 will be $73,767; and for 2024, $50,662, according to the mayor.

Jeff Reser recommends council completely eliminate the citys tax credit for residents who work in other cities and is warning cuts will be necessary.

Everyones fear — taxpayers and elected officials alike — was that the credit may be reduced or eliminated to generate more revenue for the city.
