Dallas City Council District 2: Sana Syed
A number of strong candidates are standing to replace council member Adam Medrano, leaving due to term limits. Of those running, Sana Syed stands out as most prepared to raise up all areas of District 2. From Oak Lawn to the Cedars to East Dallas, the V-shaped district includes some of the city’s greatest assets and some of its most serious social and economic challenges.
Our recommendation for Dallas City Council, District 11
The district is a cross section of Dallas and needs experienced leadership.
District 11 in northern Dallas stretches roughly from Walnut Hill Lane on the south, beyond Keller Springs Road on the north, from the Dallas North Tollway on the west to east of Central Expressway. The far-flung district is a cross section of Dallas pockets of wealth, poverty as well as economic redevelopment and public safety challenges.
And, for the first time since 2013, district voters will go to the polls this spring without seeing Lee Kleinman’s name on the ballot. Kleinman is term-limited and ineligible to run for reelection this year, prompting a field of four candidates to seek the council seat.
