The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) together with various stakeholders such as the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Gauteng Consumer Affairs office will, from Wednesday 9, until Friday, 11 February 2022, conduct surprise raids in various shopping centres in the City of Johannesburg.  In recent times, the NRCS received numerous tip-offs from consumers alerting them of suspected trading of sub-standard products by certain businesses within the City of Johannesburg, thus prompting the Regulator to put up a team of inspectors to ascertain compliance of products in the area.
