The California Highway Patrol this week arrested four suspects and recovered some $300,000 worth of stolen Lego sets connected to an organized retail theft operation, authorities said.

Suspected thieves have been caught with around £240,000 in stolen Lego to be sold on a booming black market for the toys.

Three men and one woman, aged from 35 to 57, from Los Angeles were charged with organized retail theft, grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime , according to the California Highway Patrol.

Orange resident Jeremy Johnson and Marta Hardt of Huntington Beach, along with two Los Angeles County residents, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of engaging in organized retail theft, grand theft and conspiracy.

The California Highway Patrol recovered approximately $300,000 in stolen LEGO merchandise as part of an organized retail theft operation.
