Martand Khosla at Bikaner house

Martand Khosla at Bikaner house March 14, 2021, 11:53 AM IST Critic and Curator Uma Nair has been writing for the past 31 years on art and culture She has written as critic for Times of India and Economic Times. She believes that art is a progressive sojourn. And there are those who are taught and those who are self taught. She herself had learnt by looking at the best shows in Washington D.C. and New York. And life is about learning and growing... LESS... MORE Bikaner House exploded into a collective vision of cutting edge contemporary art practices with On Site -4 premier galleries coming together. Nature Morte had stellar names and it was Martand Khosla’s installation that caught my gaze and kept me transfixed. This large wall work by Martand exploded the idea of banality of domesticity by a centrifugal force; a concentric assemblage of miniature furniture forms presented a cornucopia of sorts ; not only did it seem to flit and float off the wall it had about it a lithe lucidity in the complexity of coherence, unveiling a simplicity of medium and materiality and ingenuity thrown into its crevices.

An exhibition in Delhiunites four most famous galleries to partake in a special show named "Tales of our times" - New Delhi Times

March 6, 2021 Share An exhibition in Delhi titled “Tales of our times” unites the four most famous galleries-Experimenter, Nature Morte, Chemould Prescott Road, and Vadehra Art Gallery and some of its most renowned artists, has showcased their work made by them during the months attacked by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mysuru-based artist NS Harsha’s 14.6 x 1.6-ft ladder considers “ever-changing position in one’s life journey and how the destiny we experience always appears shifted/ altered in the end”. He recollects how the concept remained with him since he noticed a bamboo ladder maker at work, picking straight or nearly straight bamboos over curved ones.
